EverythingAtOnce

How amazing would it be to wake up to a new profession each day?

I WOULD LITERALLY DIE FOR IT!

The very first profession most of us have seen is teaching. Thanks to all the amazing teachers for molding us into what we are today. That sincerity and enthusiasm to spread knowledge was what made me classify teaching as a noble profession. And the dream to be a teacher did come true in my Class X for Teachers' day where we dressed up as our favorite teacher for a day.
And that was when I decided to be a TEACHER!

Then I was brought into the amazing world of food (via the not-so-idioty idiot box XD), And bam, I wanted to be something foody. I spent a googol number of hours drooling over that amazing amazing food. (Yeah, googol for sounding fancy!)
And that was when I decided to be a CHEF!
And that was also when I decided to be a JUDGE on those shows!
And that was also when I decided to be a FOOD BLOGGER!
And recently FOOD TASTER has been added to the list! *Drumroll*

SCENE : Enter Engineering * I was entering engineering *

The 4 years flew by in a blink, yet I had a zillion professions to take up after engineering in my head. Initially, just like every other engineer, I wanted to be a engineer with a steady job and a can-shop-without-looking-at-the-price-tag income. But then someone knocked my door, I changed my mind. Let me build up the suspense.....so....so....so....*insert suspense background score*.....*insert intense suspense background score*. I'll burst it for you, it was a pizza delivery boy! And you guessed it right, I even wanted to be him! To me, he delivers "Happiness", not only pizza!
Thanks to internet for making my list a lot longer. I learnt about some I-REALLY-WANT-TO-BE-THIS professions like Panda nanny(I'm not crying, you're crying!) , getting paid for watching videos on youtube, travel jobs where you travel and get paid, and the list is long.
When I click a nice picture, I want to be a photographer;
When I listen to a TED talk, I want to be a entrepreneur;
When I write and people love it, I want to be a blogger;
When I sing, a singer;
dance, dancer;
drive, Uber driver...

Finally, enlightenment hit and I learnt about the thin line between passion and profession.

As rightly said, "Allow your passion to become your purpose, and it will one day become your profession."

Abracadabra

Born was she,
With a wand in hand,
Mother of Magic,
Dreamer with a logic

Raised was she,
To be a girl,
With no magic,
With no logic

Time flew by,
No wonder why,
Her heart bled,
Her voice unheard

Yet she smiled,
Like a star on the darkest night,
Darkness on her,
Yearning for light

At last it happened,
Swish of hand,
Flick of the wand,

L-U-M-O-S

Harry it was,
A little late though,
Magic exists,maybe.

Happy weekend!

Heart skips a beat

Have you ever felt those tingly butterfly moments when your heart skips a beat(s)?
Here are some of such moments. *Dil thaam ke baithiye*

WARNING : Only for the weekend-hearted. Strictly not for the week-hearted.

  • That moment when your dad calls you by your full name. This truly acts as a wake-up call and we start recollecting all the things we've messed up with (present-past-future) and undoubtedly, it is either about asking you to go to the market or a smart move to make you confess your guilt. Well played, dad!
  • Getting back to the bed after turning off the lights. Seriously, getting into your blanket without getting caught by the boo-stuff is not an easy task. I pat on my back every night after the successful execution of the mission.
  • A cold winter morning, you're walking down the street. A sudden gush of air, chills running down your spine and out of no where,a warm hug. ZOOM-ZOOM-ZOOM, a face comes into the picture and it turns out to be your crush. Now you hear your mom screaming. Well, time to wake up :P
  • When your best friend gets a new best friend. Meanwhile my memes-ful mind starts screaming, "If you don't get rid of Linda, I'm gonna throw her out the winda".
  •  Most-awaited match/concert -> Tickets booked -> Happy dance -> Happier dance -> Match/concert getting cancelled at the last minute -> Why God why?
  • Knowing next day is a Monday on a Sunday night, sigh!
  • The day of results, the moment you're entering your hall ticket number, the display of marks on the 5.5" screen ,viewing the result with one-eye. My heart skips beatS.
  • Knowing you've come to the end of this post :P
Happy weekend!
Happy Diwali!

A head full of thoughts

"But she's just 10 years old, ask her to take her little brother with her",he said.

*THE THOUGHTS*

"Oh really, if someone attacks the girl, the little brother would come to her rescue? Even if he comes to the rescue, what is he,Superman or Shaktimaan? A single light blow will throw him yards away. We know the world's not a safe place but does this mean you deprive the girl her rights? Dear he, it isn't protection,it's confinement. To all of you who feel we're the weaker sex, just think about the pain your mother, the first woman in your life, went through during her labor.*Go thank her*
We are asked to get home before dark. The reason being, monsters wander in the dark. But do you know that the only way to get rid of the darkness is light and to be the light yourself. You're carving a monster unknowingly by mentally taming your boy that  '-er than her' in every single trait. When we are born equal, what makes you draw such comparisons?
Take any field, the sex ratio would startle you(or us). Is it because you are afraid of the fact that we might turn out better than you or the fact that you find dominance mandatory? If it's either of them, we'll start judging you.
The world has evolved, men have evolved, women have evolved, yet the perspective towards women hasn't evolved. Now is the time for the change and it must start from you. Look at those powerful women who are striving to make the world a better place. Your little girl might be one among them one day. Give her the equal rights she deserves. Teach her how to protect herself when need arises. Teach your boys to respect women.
But,amidst all we face, we still rise up because we have been a phoenix before
and every time we burn to ashes,we know exactly how to rise up again."

A little note to all the lovely women,

You're beautiful,
As you are
You're powerful,
More than you think you are
You're phenomenal,
You're strong,
You're elegant,
You're the queen.

HEART : Morning's here,Morning's here! Bleh,sleep for another 5 minutes. Here,take your                          blanket.

SCENE - 2 :  THE TAIYAARI

MIND   : Hurry up you, hurry up! You need to catch the bus. Oh ho,stop that singing,it's shaking                  the  foundations of  my home.

HEART : Your life's always been in a hurry. Take a moment to feel the true essence of life.

MIND   : Oh,really? You can feel the essence later, catch the bus first.

HEART : *Grrrrrrrr*

SCENE - 3 : THE KAARYAALAY  - PART 1

MIND    : This is your day buddy.Go,prove yourself! Prove to the world that you're the epitome                        of  perfection.

HEART : You need not prove yourself to anyone. You are what you are.You are unique. You are                           special.Go,be yourself!

MIND    : Why can't you think?

HEART : 'Cause I'm not you. I am what I am.

MIND    : Pschhh,in the real world, you need to prove yourself. You need to show your magic to                        the world.

HEART : The real world is unreal. It's only your soul that is eternal.

MIND    : *slow claps* May the force be with you!

HEART  : I've always been the pumping force buddy!

SCENE - 3 : THE KAARYAALAY - PART 2

MIND    : A risky project - cons > pros - REJECT it

HEART : A calculated risk is worth a go. Why don't you give it a try? Adventure-up your life                            buddy!

MIND   : Do you actually know what might happen if you fail the project? You would let your                         boss down and eventually you might go down.

HEART : Live in the present. To shine bright like a diamond, brace yourself for the cuts.

MIND    : Why don't you think practically?

HEART :I don't actually think, I guide you to the right path.

SCENE - 4 : THE FINALE

MIND    : Listen to me!

HEART  : Listen to me!

HUMAN : You are  driving me crazy! I can't  choose between you. *sobs*

HEART : Dear human, you are the best  judge.Make a wise choice.

MIND   : Yeah, make a wise choice! Choose me!

HEART : Oh mind, he makes the final decision. Let him choose.

MIND   : Take time and choose me!

HUMAN : I've made my choice.

MIND    : Yayyy,thanks!

HUMAN : You haven't heard my decision yet.

MIND     :  I've known homosapiens for a long time. They would eventually pick me.

HUMAN : Why would we always choose you?

MIND     :  Humans are engulfed by the fear of failure, fear of taunts from the society and fear of                       disappointment.

HUMAN : I've decided to rise above my fears , get out of my comfort zone and follow my heart.

HEART   :Wise decision made. Don't forget to bring Mr.Mind with you.

Follow your heart but take your brain with you!

Dear hooman,detox.

Did you ever feel the urge to throw up whatever you're doing and run away from everything? Did you ever feel the question "What am I doing?" hitting you hard?  If your score was a 1/2 or 2/2,you're on the right page*tadaa*. All this fuss is nothing but StreSS(with a stress on s!). This is actually the very moment wherein you need to detox. So here's a list of some easy-to-very easy ways to get yourself better. *Thank me later*

  • What more do you need if you have a beach to hit at a stone's throw or a can-throw-yourself-at-the-beach-by-a-car ? You're overtly blessed in either of the cases. *I'm blessed* Put your flip-flops on ,sunscreen on, sunglasses on and hit the beach. The sound of the waves, the zephyr of the salty wind and the playful touch of the water,ah,heaven!

  • In the current world where you get update notification more frequently than a message notification (do bear with my exaggeration though) , if there's something that can keep you as "you" , it's definitely only your hobby. Pick up a hobby, nurture it and who knows your passion might turn into your profession (get ready to deal with the padosi-aunties and uncles if your passion isn't engineering *sigh*). Do try to spend a little time everyday with your hobby.

  • With the advent of smartphones, the previously existent hooman-to-hooman talks have reduced to 5.5" screen-to-*insert the screen-size of your phone* talks. But,trust me,there's nothing like hanging up (in-person) with your best friend or with your family . The warmth, the emotion, the compassion don't actually exist over the phone. So,make time to catch up with them.

  • Mark a day in your week to treat yourself. Go shopping or go to the parlor or bake a cake or Netflix-popcorn-coke trio or grab a book and snuggle in a comfy-corner. The day would be yours and you get to do any random task for which you couldn't find time for in the other 6 days.
  • Nature heals deepest of the scars. Rejuvenating the body from the interior is quite essential. A few days in your month wherein you eat organic can do the magic. Organic fruits and vegetables(especially the greens) need to be consumed on the marked days. Eat healthy to stay healthy.
PS : Not to forget the best detox technique, chai and crumpled-papers-and-chai (you're on the right page :P)

Happy vacation!

Summer bummer

*Buzz, buzz, buzz*The annoying buzz of alarm. It's again daytime*facepalm*.Why does sun wake up so early?*double-facepalm* And the day begins with a mandatory shower(yeah,it's summer, sigh!).Choosing what to wear in summer is the biggest dilemma*owing to the fact that half my wardrobe is black, shopping has been added to the weekend to-do-list*Grabbing a quick bite,I run to work.*Vroom, vroom, vroom to the past where there wasn't any Ola/Uber and the only palanquin was autorickshaw* It's still 8 in the morning and Mr.Sun has already started sucking my glucose. Now,the reality hits me,I've forgotten my sunscreen.*triple-facepalm*.Cursing the day,I rush to the autorickshaw stand and after exhibiting my bargaining skills(read it highly-highly-bad bargaining skills),I finally get into my palanquin. With the gush of hot breeze on my face and the sweat streaming down the sides of my face,ah,I look so pretty.*yeah, prettier than the prettiest*.Carrying this pretty face along with the glucose-less body,I enter the work place.Ah,heaven! No,not that I'm totally in love with my work,it's the tandi-hava from the AC that works the magic.I start my work and after 3 mojitos,2 milk shakes and obviously work stuff,tick-tick-tick,time to get back to ghar. Finally,I reach my place and *boom* the power goes down. After a long sunny day,who would want this! Suddenly,my thirst pangs hit me*quite hard* and I open the refrigerator. I search for chilled water and no luck. Then,at this point of time, the priceless words uttered by my mom start ringing in my ears,"Fridge se pani nikalne ke baad, bottle fill karke fridge me rakhna".I know, too late a realisation!Scooping out a few scoops of semi-solid(almost liquid) choco-chip ice cream,I find the way to the sofa.*after hitting my pinky toe to the sofa, tripping over the carpet*It's been 3 hours since air-conditioning and another half hour can start mal-functioning me.I call up the power station,no luck,no one answers.I start fanning with the telephone directory, occasionally hitting my face though. Finally after killing 14 mosquitoes and 3 more fills of liquefied ice cream, the power restores.*yay* Time to hit the bed. I turn on the AC*yeah, for the tandi-hava*and collapse on the bed. Finally my summer day comes to an end and as I wake up the next day,the first thing I notice is the tanned-me and de-tanning has been added to weekend to-do-list.

Happy summer!
